Several months ago we acquired this faceted ring from the
owner who is in her 90's.
She was born into a family of a well known merchant family in Hawaii.
The owner asked that we purchase some of her costume pieces.
As we sorted through the jewelry pieces, all with some age to them,
most with an asian theme, we came upon this large faceted ring.
The owner was embarrassed that the ring was rather gaudy
and a costume piece.
We pointed out to her upon examination that the ring had
manufacturer's hallmarks and gold hallmarks.
A pleasant memory of when she purchased the ring many many years ago,
was shared as we asked questions about this rather unusual ring.
She shared her mother was still living when she purchased it.
Where and exactly when she purchased the ring she wasn't sure.
When our Gemologist examined the ring he confirmed it was a large
faceted amber ring.
Well made it had an engraved etching with gold accents.
Glass beads that were once faux pearls further enhanced the etching of a floral
Beautiful ring that the former owner was now willing to let go to another new
