We were offered recently a piece of jade that is called
"Moss on Snow" or even Snowflake Jade.
I see this type of jade once in a while and it's starting to grow on me.
Maybe it's because we rarely see this type of jade that I'm finding it quite attractive.
The Jade has white veining that looks like bits of snow.
This white veining covers the entire surface of the jade piece.
Scattered through the jade is moss green colored veining.
The overall jade is clear translucent with a water appearance.
Dreamy and quite beautiful a piece of jade like this was used in the 60's and 70's
often as the base jade for a multicolored pendant medallion.
With the hundreds of pendants we see in a year.
I've only come across a jade like this maybe 2 to 3 times.
This is definitely a “Keeper” piece, just to have a pendant made of this type of jade.
Happy Treasure Hunting during this Season of Thanksgiving!
